sophia coppola, m'lady

i don't know if it was mary's special chocolates or my seriously underutilized brain creativity, but coming across some old reviews of virgin suicides yesterday revived (or reminded me of) my adoration for the film.  i was blown away at how even these simplest of screen shots capture the eery dreaminess of that  1970's suburban summer. In fact, it evoked such a feeling in me that i was tempted to get all "1970's" myself; you know, light up a j., bask in the sun, and reflect on like, the universe, bro...but instead i watched it on my netflix. ahem. meticulous coppola minded the composition of every frame in suicides to the point that each still is beautiful all on its own. listen to this and scroll down, you'll see what i mean...

you dig? now, be free, go reflect on the universe, bro...
